What we do with your details
Short, and in the same English as the rest of the site. No legalese.
What we collect
Your enquiry details, source page and campaign tags, plus the limited technical information used by the security checks described below.
- Your name.
- Your phone number.
- Your email address.
- Your business name, if you give it.
- Your answer to "what hours do you need covered".
- Your website address, if you give it.
- Whatever you wrote in the message box.
- The page you sent the form from, and the time you sent it.
- If you arrived from an ad or a campaign link, the campaign tags in that link, so we know which ad you came from.
That is the lot. We do not ask for and do not want a date of birth, an address, a bank account, a card number or an IRD number. If you type something like that into the message box we will delete it.
Why we collect it
To ring you back about your enquiry and to work out what you need. That is the only reason.
We do not add you to a mailing list. We do not send you anything you did not ask for. If you tell us you are not interested, that is the end of it.
Who else sees it
Nobody outside the business that runs callanswering.co.nz. Your details are not sold, not rented, not traded and not handed to a marketing list.
The only outside parties involved are the ordinary plumbing any website has: the company that hosts this site, and the company that hosts the system your enquiry is stored in. They hold the data on our behalf, under contract, and they are not allowed to use it for anything of their own.
New Zealand enquiries are held in New Zealand. We would only ever hand something to somebody else if the law required it, and we are not aware of that ever having happened.
If you become a customer
Then there is more, and you should know about it before you sign up rather than after.
The service answers your business phone, so it holds the names, numbers and details of the people who ring you, along with a recording and a written transcript of each call. Those are your customers' details. We hold them so that you can read them, ring people back and have the next call recognise a caller. We do not sell them, we do not market to your callers, and we do not use them to build anything of our own.
You can export them and you can ask us to delete them.
How long we keep it
An enquiry that goes nowhere is deleted two years after we last heard from you.
If you become a customer we keep your account records for as long as you are with us, and for seven years after you leave, because tax law requires us to keep records of who we invoiced. Call recordings and transcripts are kept for as long as your account is open and deleted when it closes, or sooner if you ask.
Correcting or deleting it
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix something that is wrong, or ask us to delete it. Email logins@d3v.nz and say which you want.
We will come back to you within twenty working days, which is the timeframe the Privacy Act 2020 sets. There is nothing to pay and you do not need a reason.
If we get it wrong and you are not happy with how we handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Keeping the form clean
The form uses a security session, a hidden anti-spam field, server-side validation and a limit on repeated submissions. A failed check shows an error; it is not presented as a successful enquiry. The rate limit uses a hashed version of the connecting IP address, held separately from enquiry content.
Your enquiry is sent to our own server first rather than straight to a third party, so the address it ends up at is not published in the page for scrapers to find. Enquiries are sent over an encrypted connection.
Cookies and tracking
An essential session cookie protects the contact form. It is not an advertising cookie. Short-lived request counts help limit automated submissions. Campaign tags may be remembered for the browser session and included when you enquire. Google reCAPTCHA protects the enquiry form. It loads when you submit and processes technical browser and network information to assess automated abuse. The form carries a reCAPTCHA notice saying so. Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply to that check.
The only thing carried between pages is the campaign tag in the link you arrived on, and only if you then send the form.
Last updated 29 August 2026. If this changes we will change this page, and the date above with it.
Any of that unclear
Ask and we will answer it plainly. Email logins@d3v.nz.
Optional Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics on this website to understand page visits and confirmed enquiry counts. It is on by default. These sites serve New Zealand and Australia, where analytics of this kind does not require your prior permission, so we do not interrupt you with a banner to ask. You can switch it off at any time. Local previews send no analytics at all.
“Analytics choices” in the footer turns analytics off, and your choice is remembered in this browser for up to 180 days. Turning it off does not affect the contact form or any planning tool, and it stops this integration sending anything further. Essential form-security cookies work separately.
While analytics is on, Google receives limited technical information about the visit. This implementation sends the page path and title, referring website origin and whether an enquiry was confirmed. It does not deliberately send form answers, names, email addresses, telephone numbers or URL query/fragment text. Advertising personalisation and Google signals are disabled.
Google Analytics uses cookies and processes technical information, which may involve systems outside New Zealand or Australia. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Switching analytics off stops future analytics from this integration; it does not erase information already processed.
